What To See In Sherpur | Places To Visit In Sherpur

Gojni Leisure Center, Sherpur District, Bangladesh

Sherpur is a district in the Mymensingh Division of Bangladesh. If you decide to travel to Sherpur district, this blog will help you. I will cover everything about It Here.

Tourist Attractions in Sherpur

Modhutila Eco Park

I hope you are now in Sherpur or planning to visit. Anyway, if you come here, I recommend you arrive as early in the morning as possible because the scenery looks amazing in the morning.
If you have a car or bike, you can easily visit, but if you don’t, then you’ll need to book a car or CNG for a day. Most people book a CNG for a day to visit Modhutila Eco Park and Gojni Leisure Center. For a day, they (CNG) charge 1200 tk to 1500 tk.
There is a small entry fee to visit Modhutila Eco Park, though I’ve forgotten the exact amount.
It will take around 1 to 1.5 hours by CNG to travel from Sherpur Town to Modhutila Eco Park (a distance of 29 km). But remember one thing: go to Modhutila Eco Park first and then go to Gojni Leisure Center; otherwise, you’ll miss out on the fun of visiting Modhutila first.

After visiting Modhutila Eco Park, be ready to visit Gojni Leisure Center. It’s just 14 km from Modhutila, and it will take around 30 minutes. Unlike Modhutila, there is no entry fee at Gojni.

If you ask me which of the two places I like best, Modhutila or Gojni, honestly, my answer is Modhutila. By the way, Gojni is no less beautiful than Modhutila.

You will spend the whole day visiting these two places.

Karnajhora Raja Pahar

Karnajhora Raja Pahar, Sherpur District, Bangladesh

When going to the mountains, the earlier you go in the morning, the better. However, my friend and I went there quite late. That’s why we couldn’t enjoy the morning vibe. But the scenery was fantastic, with cold air that could refresh anyone’s mind, even if they were feeling depressed.

My friend and I traveled from Sherpur to Sreebardi in a CNG. The CNG driver charged us 50 Tk per person. From Sreebardi, we decided to go to Bhaiyadanga by auto and then to Karnajhora Raja Pahar.
Interestingly, the auto driver also joined us on the trip because he wanted to visit the place too. That’s why we didn’t have to change autos or switch transport.
If you’re planning to visit, I recommend going via Jhenaigati to Rajar Pahar. The route through Jhenaigati offers a fun experience, as you travel through the mountains. The route from Sreebardi doesn’t offer the same enjoyment.
A bike is the best mode of transport to reach Raja Pahar. But if you don’t have one, you can reserve a CNG for a relaxed journey.

Rubber Garden

There is a rubber garden near Karnajhora Raja Pahar, about 2.5 to 3.5 kilometers away, though I can’t say the exact distance.

Lauchapra Picnic Spot is located in Bakshiganj of the Jamalpur District. If you visit Karnajhora Raja Pahar, you must also check out Lauchapra Picnic Spot. The distance between Karnajhora Raja Pahar and Lauchapra Picnic Spot is about 5 km, so why miss the chance? The Lauchapra Picnic Spot area is quite large. There is an entry fee of 20 Tk per person.

The auto driver charged us 500 Tk for the trip from Karnajhora Raja Pahar to the Rubber Garden, Lauchapra Picnic Spot, and finally to Jhenaigati Bazar.

Panihata & Nakugaon Land Port

Panihata,Nalitabari,Sherpur District, Bangladesh

Panihata was the only place I missed visiting in Sherpur. On the way to Panihata, you can stop by Nakugaon Land Port. If you want, you can spend some time there. If you have a visa and passport, you can easily travel to Meghalaya, India, from this point.

How to go to Panihata?
From Sherpur, rent a CNG to Nalitabari, which will cost 60 BDT per person. From Nalitabari, I rented an auto-rickshaw to visit Nakugaon Land Port and Panihata. The auto driver charged me 250 BDT. If possible, try traveling there by bike.

If you have time or want to explore Nalitabari further, you can visit the Nalitabari Rubber Dam and Rubber Garden.

Famous Food in Sherpur District

Chanar Payesh: If you visit Sherpur, don’t miss Chanar Payesh. It is a traditional dish of Sherpur.

Gulgule: On our way from Gojni to Jhenaigati, we were told that the Gulgule at Rangtia Bazar is very tasty. We stopped by, tried them, and liked them. You should try them too if you want.

Gulgule

Jhalmuri: If you are a Jhalmuri lover, head to Kanashakola Bazar and try the Jhalmuri there. Ask the locals for the best Jhalmuri vendor in Kanashakola Market, and they’ll guide you.

Conclusion

The places mentioned above are some of the top tourist attractions in the Sherpur District. If you’d like to visit more spots in Sherpur, consider exploring Sherpur Stadium, Mai Saheba Jame Mosque, Sherpur Government College, Pone Tin Ani Jomidar Bari, and Orchid Parjatan Kendra and Resort (entry fee: 100 BDT per person).
